The diverse yet similar backgrounds of the authors allow them to speak to the readers in different voices but in the common language of commitment to students, teachers, and the future they will create.

The book also emphasizes how many people have entered the teaching profession and struggled greatly with burnout because of ineffective and outdated curriculum. The Cards explain: “We need to adjust our fear of change and social approval to cultivate an education system that teaches to every aspect of a student. We have much to learn from our failed efforts, in order to create more effective methods of teaching.”

Dolores and Herm have the eyes and heart to recognize what was and is still missing in the current education system and consider the needs of the new kids. They offer various proposals and introduce expansive teaching styles that go beyond traditional philosophy, including meditation, Reiki, knowledge of the higher self, and the importance of spirituality.

Combining their expertise and firsthand experiences in their respective fields, the two have authored “The Missing Piece, 2022: Educating New Kids for a New World,” an inspirational resource for teachers and parents to help current students, the “new kids” of today to be transformed and rise to their full potential. The book is an awakening for everyone in the education field to recognize education needs of today.

The first part of the book discusses the qualities of these “new kids.” Their unique skills and needs frequently causes them to be misrepresented (labeled) in ways that put them at an educational disadvantage.

Part two offers educators and parents a collection of teaching strategies, philosophy, and poetry to invigorate them in becoming advocates for more effective education.

The third part provides spiritual and metaphysical means for educators, students, and parents to actualize their innate wisdom and thrive in our constantly evolving educational system

Dolores and Hermon educate the readers about the current education system and the sometimes-ineffective methods of education that cannot cater to the educational needs of the “new kids.’ The authors make readers aware of the increased challenges in education today, while also outlining effective interventions and realistic ways to educate the whole child.

“I was blown away by The Missing Piece, 2022.
