VBC Giving Foundation Announces Appointment of American Veteran John P. Jones SSgt USMC Ret As Executive Director

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – WEBWIRE

The VBC Giving Foundation, a 501© 3 nonprofit organization and the philanthropic arm of Volumetric Building Companies (VBC), founded on the principle that respectable, safe, quality housing is imperative for everyone, including veterans and vulnerable communities alike, to achieve their own version of success and prosperity in the spirit of the American Dream, is pleased to welcome John P. Jones SSgt USMC Ret to the position of Executive Director.

John is a decorated US Marine and an experienced Director Of Development who throughout his military career, faced armed conflict head-on - During his combat deployment to Iraq, SSgt Jones was severely injured when his hummer ran over a double‐stacked anti‐tank mine, then having to undergo 40+ surgeries at NNMC Bethesda, with medical practitioners attempting to save his legs. As a result of his injuries, John P. Jones SSgt USMC Ret lost both legs below the knees. From his stoic recovery, he has since demonstrated a rich legacy of working with fellow members of the military industry, nonprofit organizations, government, and specialists in conflict resolution to provide myriad community and social services to those in need.

John P. Jones SSgt USMC Ret brings over 14 years of nonprofit experience to his new role, having previously served as Executive Director of Development for ‘Workshops for Warriors’, an organization devoted to training, educating, and placing transitioning service members; John later joined the ‘America’s Warrior Partnership’ as its Chief Director of Development, seeking to help end veteran suicides. John is now proud to be the Executive Director of the VBC Giving Foundation, where the mission of calling a place ‘home’ “…can be a reality, not just a dream,” he stated.

“The critically important work of the VBC Giving Foundation in supporting the crisis impacting America’s veterans, many facing abject poverty and even homelessness, among other vulnerable communities, cannot be understated; not since its inception and certainly not here in 2023. I’m privileged to assume the responsibilities associated with the Executive Director position and working with our Board and the donor community at large to activate a groundswell of support for those we serve, including those who served our country,” John P. Jones SSgt USMC Ret continued.

The VBC Giving Foundation raises the necessary capital to create well-designed, energy efficient, superior modular housing projects, overseeing every phase of development, from design and engineering to manufacturing (with the support of a national coalition of manufacturers), to completion of the project at hand. They support local, state, and national agencies to create communities for generations to come. VBC offers a proven, time-efficient, and environmentally sound methodology to deploy high quality multi-family modular projects to all sectors in need, and to any community across the nation, easing the housing burden for municipalities and other agencies nationwide, building long lasting thriving neighborhoods in the process.

Dana Spain, Founder and President of the VBC Giving Foundation, stated that, “At any given time, 38,800 veterans are housing insecure or experiencing real homelessness in this country – The valor and stoicism they embodied previously in combat often compels them not to seek out aid in the present - and so their crises perpetuate. Our work is dedicated to addressing the overwhelming need for their affordable housing through innovative and highly replicable solutions, such as our 47-unit new construction permanent housing community pilot project in Philadelphia, ‘Veterans Village’ - I can think of no individual better suited to help us steward this continued mission for all vulnerable communities than American patriot and advocate, John P. Jones SSgt USMC Ret. We are very pleased to welcome John aboard and help us raise awareness and support for his fellow veterans and those seeking to live with dignity in pursuit of their own American dream”.
