“En Una Nube,” Taking Tontipop Music to the Next Level

“En Una Nube,” the first single of the brilliant Molly Moon, was released on January 8th. The track can be categorized as “tontipop” a Spanish indie pop sub-genre. The term may sound a bit derogatory for those unfamiliar with it, but it is a musical trend with a large number of followers. What might come as a surprise is that its singer and writer has been studying Sarasate and Beethoven; this Colombian-Spanish artist is a violinist and a former conservatory student. Perhaps that is the reason why the song feels as if the musical genre is being pushed to its limits.
 
Despite being her first single, you will be impressed by her genius arrangements, solid structure, and the powerful production by Baptized Lessix, another young talent. It is a highly recommended track.
 
Next Friday, January 15th, the song’s video-clip will be released. Where perhaps that 80s sonority will be reflected in their visual proposal.
