Liberty Mutual Insurance and Chairman and CEO David H. Long Recognized by St. Francis House of Boston as a 2020 All The Way Home Honoree

BOSTON – WEBWIRE

Liberty Mutual Insurance and Chairman and CEO David H. Long were presented with the 2020 All The Way Home Award, Corporate Honoree by St. Francis House of Boston for Liberty Mutual’s support of the men and women facing homelessness in the City of Boston.

St. Francis House is the largest day shelter in Massachusetts, serving an average of 500 poor and homeless men and women a day, 365 days per year.  For nearly 40 years, St. Francis House has offered basic, rehabilitative and housing services that provide their guests with continuous and comprehensive care.

“Liberty Mutual has long been a philanthropic leader in Boston, stepping in early and giving big to agencies working with the homeless,” said St. Francis House President and CEO Karen LaFrazia.  “Liberty’s leadership recognized immediately the danger the coronavirus posed for our vulnerable homeless neighbors and, because of their long history of support and partnerships, they knew exactly which agencies in the city were best positioned to respond and they did not hesitate to reach out with support.”

Liberty Mutual was one of three honorees recognized by St. Francis House at its annual gala event – held virtually this year due to the pandemic. St. Francis House also celebrated Boston Healthcare for the Homeless and Dr. Denise De La Nueces with its Nonprofit Honoree Award; and Sheila Dillon of the City of Boston’s Department of Neighborhood Development with its Civic Honoree Award.

During the event, Liberty Mutual Insurance Chairman and CEO Long remarked “It really does take a village - corporate, nonprofit and public - to lift up a person, a cause, a mission worth driving and work worth empowering.  It also takes great leadership and in few places is leadership better exemplified than Karen LaFrazia. We’re so fortunate to have her at the helm of this vital organization.  At Liberty Mutual we’ve stated that progress, individual and collective, happens when people feel secure.  For 36 years, St. Francis House has been offering security to thousands of our neighbors when seasons of personal disruption and dislocation arrive. What deep gratitude we owe St. Francis House, its Board, its leadership, and its staff for helping our dear neighbors truly find their ways home.”
