The world elite of the mountain bike scene started again. The UCI World Championship in MTB Eliminator was held in Leuven, Belgium, despite the current difficult situation. Our corratec MTB Explorer Team was at the start with our top riders Simon Gegenheimer and Marion Fromberger. With an outstanding performance, Simon achieved second place overall and only had to admit defeat to the reigning UCI World Champion Perrin-Ganier. Gegenheimer used the reigning world champion’s bad start to take an early lead. While he thought that the long-awaited world title was finally attainable, he saw his adversary overtake him. Despite all efforts, it was not possible to catch up with him to the finish.

“I’ve never been so close to the world title,” said the disappointed silver medalist, who was determined to win the race. In the end, he was still very happy about the 2nd place.

The entire corratec team congratulates the driver on this top performance and wishes him continued good luck and success!
