Pearson Media Group Offers Sponsorship Program to James Bambrick’s Book “Cricket”

Pearson Media Group is a trusted global video production house in California, USA with a vast network of connections in the media and film industry. Set in a town of 25,000 people in Southeastern, Pennsylvania in the post War 1950s, the author’s parents were children of the Depression and served in the Military or supported the War effort. The 1950s were a time of prosperity where anyone able to work could get a job. No one ever moved away and everyone seemed to know everyone else in the town.

People were happy to be alive and wanted to start a family and start living a “normal” life. Cricket was a child of such parents. He was allowed a lot of freedom to make his way through childhood. His days were slow and unorganized, just perfect for a kid.

“Cricket” is the story of that journey – a story that is filled with the tension, humor, and joy of childhood.

There are many experiences shared by people: birth of siblings, kindergarten, Catholic grade school, first love, sports, the “gang,” dance lessons… Anecdotes from the perspective of a child are beautifully illustrated in words so that each recollection comes alive.  The book is easy to read, filled with humor, and yet poignant.

James A. Bambrick grew up in post-WWII Pennsylvania. He has a background in engineering, business management, and is a retired US Navy Officer. He is married with two sons and has traveled extensively. “Cricket” is his first work.
