Anheuser-Busch Delivering 9,000 Cans of Emergency Drinking Water to Arkansas In Support of Tornado Relief Efforts

WEBWIRE

At the request of the American Red Cross, Anheuser-Busch is donating more than 9,000 cans of emergency drinking water to support local communities in Arkansas impacted by the recent tornado. The donation of emergency drinking water will be delivered to Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partner, C & C Distributors in Newport, AR who will work alongside the American Red Cross and the local Anheuser-Busch team to distribute to those in need.

Jonesboro is home to Anheuser-Busch’s rice mill and more than 40 employees who work closely with the rice growing community. While all A-B employees are safe, the mill sustained damage from the tornado, and repairs to the mill are underway to quickly restore it to full operational capacity.

“We are thankful that everyone who was on site at our Jonesboro rice mill at the time of the tornado is safe,” said John Heffernan, General Manager of the Anheuser-Busch Jonesboro Rice Mill. “We are grateful for our partnership with the American Red Cross and our wholesalers to be able to use our unique capabilities to help our communities in need, especially our friends and neighbors across Jonesboro. We are thinking about all those impacted and are hopeful everyone is safe and on the road to recovery.”

The clean, safe drinking water was produced at Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville, GA brewery, which alongside the company’s Fort Collins, CO brewery, periodically pauses beer production throughout the year to can emergency drinking water to help communities in times of disaster.

Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have provided more than 83 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises.
