Milan, Italy – WEBWIRE

Napisan donates €250,000 to support goal of San Raffaele Hospital to triple the places in intensive care. In addition to the donation, Napisan announce a scientific partnership with the University Vita e Salute San Raffaele for “Igiene Insieme” (Hygiene Together), a project for the education of correct hygiene practices in schools.

Napisan, an RB brand, responds to the needs of hospitals in Lombardy and supports the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan in the expansion of intensive and semi-intensive care units by contributing with a donation of €250,000. At the same time, Napisan is launching a scientific partnership with the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele for an important project of education to correct hygiene practices that will be addressed to the children in schools as soon as the situation normalises.

The spread of Coronavirus infections has led the San Raffaele Hospital to set itself the goal of tripling the number of units in intensive care, which is extremely necessary during these days of health emergency in Lombardy.

Napisan, as ambassador of this message of responsibility towards others, has therefore decided to support two key players in the community and social life: those who take care of us today - the hospital facilities. And those who contribute to the formation of the future of the country: schools.

In order to stimulate awareness of the issue among the younger generations, Napisan has also created “Igiene Insieme”, a project developed under the scientific supervision of Prof. Carlo Signorelli, Director of the School of Specialization in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine and Prof. Anna Odone, Professor of Hygiene, both University Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan. The initiative aims to promote collective consciousness, starting from school desks, on the importance of hygiene both in terms of self-care and social responsibility.

The project will be operational as soon as the schools are reopened and will involve children, parents and teachers in order to spread the general rules of hygiene and to deepen the knowledge on how infectious diseases are transmitted.

“The support of companies to our hospital and therefore to Lombardy’s health care in such a critical moment is very important because having more beds of semi-intensive and intensive therapy means treating more people with serious respiratory problems caused by Covid-19” says the CEO of San Raffaele Hospital, engineer Elena Bottinelli.

“Napisan, who has always been close to families for their protection and hygiene, believes that this is not just a private matter but that, today more than ever, it has a public dimension at the level of social and civic responsibility. For this reason we want to support the work of those who are fighting against the Coronavirus and we believe that the promotion and respect of rules of responsibility - such as staying at home - and of protection and hygiene are the basis to protect ourselves and the whole community in general” states Enrico Marchelli, GM of RB’s Hygiene division in Italy.

At this time in Italy there is an emergency situation directly related to issues concerning individual, social and civil responsibility, Napisan and San Raffaele Hospital are starting a concrete an long-term collaboration.
