Don’t miss Alene Veatch Dunn’s book exhibit at the 2020 BookExpo New Title Showcase.

The author of “Red Dirt and Sand Hill Stories” Alene Veatch Dunn regales readers with stories of the good old days in “Memories of the Way It Was” (Book Fuel; 2017).

This collection of short stories is a throwback to the days of old when mothers did laundry down at the creek on a washboard, family members enlisted to serve in World War II, and people cooked on wood-burning stoves, among many things that serve as a trip down memory lane for the Silent Generation, as well as Baby Boomers.

“They all have a smidgen of truth in them with a bit of fiction laced in to make them readable,” says Dunn about her entries in “Memories of the Way It Was.” “That’s what these stories are about. The stories cannot die and this book won’t let them. That why it is called ‘Memories of the Way It Was.’”

This collection of short stories will not only drive nostalgia among certain readers but also inspire them to recall precious memories and share them with the next generations.
