Lockheed Martin Names New Senior Leader for Human Resources

Lockheed Martin’s board of directors approved the appointment of Greg Karol as the senior vice president of Human Resources, effective March 2. He will also serve as a corporate officer and report directly to Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and CEO Marillyn Hewson.

“Greg is a strong, multidisciplinary leader with proven experience leading human capital strategies in both manufacturing and services businesses,” said Hewson. “He also realizes the importance of creating an inclusive and engaging workplace environment that promotes a spirit of innovation and encourages high performance.”

Karol will lead all aspects of the company’s global human resources strategies, including recruiting, development and retention; benefits and compensation; diversity and inclusion; labor relations and workforce development and training programs.

Most recently Karol was the vice president of Human Resources at Lockheed Martin’s largest business area, Aeronautics. He joined the corporation in 1986 as a production supervisor supporting the Patriot and Pershing II missile programs and as a leader in the development of the successful Performance Management Teams program.  Prior to leading human resources for Aeronautics, he held several leadership roles within human resources including vice president of corporate labor relations and vice president of human resources for Missiles and Fire Control.

Karol holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration and human resources management from the Florida Institute of Technology and completed a global executive master’s in human resources program at Rutgers University.
