On a late summer’s day, Maishe Rosstein, a seventy-year-old man undergoes open-heart triple bypass surgery. At home, after recovering from the ICU, Maishe recounts how, during the procedure, through a glass, he darkly perceived his days entering the Air Force (AF). The details of Maishe’s surgery was specially penned skillfully by the writer, not compromising between conceiving to the readers the technicalities of a heart surgery while accompanied by a poetic perspective of the person undergoing such dire situation. About the Author
Donald Ray Schwartz is an Associate Professor of Speech, Theatre and Mass Communication (ret’d) at Community College of Baltimore County. He has published nearly 200 works—from essays, articles, reviews, criticisms, novellas and non-fiction works. His work, Lillian Russell: A Bio Bibliography, in collaboration with Anne Bowbeer is considered the definitive resource on the late 19^th, early 20^th centuries chanteuse and a significant contribution to that period of American theater in general. Noah’s Ark: An Annotated Encyclopedia of All the Animal Special in the Hebrew Bible was chosen as the Jewish Book Club Selection of the month in the same year it was published, and is still considered the definitive resource for that subject.

His plays won numerous awards, including Review, that won the Sarasola (Florida) Theatre National Playwriting Contest. His epic poem, The Cross Country Run of Jennifer X Dreifus, won the Mellen National Epic Poetry Contest. His sabbatical monograph about Philo Farnsworth’s invention of television, published by CCBC is available online.

He has skillfully directed and produced over 40 main stage productions including full stage musicals and directed television commercials. He has featured cameo roles in two independent major motion pictures. He was a featured performer for Nebraska Public Television’s industrial film series.
