Don’t Let Halloween Haunt You Forever

Budweiser Partners with People Who Were Arrested on Halloween to Remind Others to Drink Responsibly and Hydrate Between Buds

Halloween’s all about showing off your costume. But not like this.

To remind people to Drink Wiser and hydrate between Buds this holiday, Budweiser is showing the world what can happen when you don’t drink responsibly during one of the biggest drinking occasions of the year.

Budweiser worked with real people who have been arrested for irresponsible drinking behavior on Halloween, reimagining their costumed mugshots as creative reminders across social media for others to act responsibly this holiday. On Halloween night, people can follow @BudweiserUSA on Twitter and turn on tweet notifications for real-time reminders to Drink Wiser, by hydrating between Buds.

First launched in 2018, Drink Wiser is Budweiser’s signature responsible drinking platform that rallies all beer drinkers around a simple call-to-action: hydrate between Buds. Now, Budweiser is bringing its Drink Wiser message to all those celebrating Halloween, a traditionally high drinking occasion.

Budweiser will debut the Drink Wiser campaign through social media and digital OOH in three cities: New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago. In participating locations, those who purchase Budweiser between October 21 and November 1 on Drizly will be gifted a $5 Lyft gift card for a safe ride home.

Anheuser-Busch has a long history of encouraging people to enjoy beer responsibly. The brewer’s first responsible drinking message, “Budweiser Means Moderation,” dates back more than 100 years, and its first major responsible drinking campaign, “Know When to Say When,” launched more than 35 years ago.
