New Jersey Asbestos Testing Laboratory Offers NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course

Join EMSL Analytical, Inc.’s four-day NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course on January 20^th through the 23^rd at its corporate headquarters located in the greater Philadelphia area. This class will be instructed by EMSL’s leading asbestos expert, Michelle McGowan. Registration begins at 7:30 AM followed by the training which will run from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily.

The NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course will cover asbestos regulations, phase contrast microscopy (PCM) and the NIOSH 7400 Method. In addition, this training will also provide in-depth sampling information such as sample collection, receiving, handling, preparation, analysis and reporting. Attendees will take a written exam at the end of the course. To receive the NIOSH 582 certificate, attendees must complete the exam with a passing grade of 80% or better and attend all training sessions.

At the end of the course, a written exam measures the student’s level of technical understanding. Those who successfully complete the written exam (passing grade of 80% or better) and attend all training sessions will be eligible to receive a NIOSH 582 Equivalency certificate.
