Bloomberg Index Services Limited Authorized as an EU-Regulated Benchmark Administrator

Bloomberg announced that the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has authorized Bloomberg Index Services Limited (BISL) as a regulated UK benchmark administrator, under the European Union Benchmark Regulation (EU BMR).

“We are pleased that we have received authorization from the FCA as a regulated administrator,” said Steve Berkley, Global Head of Bloomberg Indices and CEO of BISL. “Today’s news underscores our commitment to upholding the industry’s regulatory standards to ensure the accuracy and integrity of benchmarks.”

BISL has conducted index administration since 2014, including serving as the administrator of the Bloomberg Barclays fixed income indices. The Bloomberg Barclays Indices are widely used by fixed income investors seeking objective, rules-based, and representative benchmarks to measure asset-class risk and returns. In addition to the Bloomberg Barclays Indices, BISL administers the Bloomberg Commodity Index, the UBS Bloomberg CMCI index, the Bloomberg AusBond family, Bloomberg’s BFIX, the Bloomberg Currency Indices and a number of strategy and custom index offerings.
