MediaTek to Integrate Sony’s 360 Reality Audio Technology into its Audio Chipset Portfolio

MediaTek today announced it will integrate Sony’s innovative 360 Reality Audio technology into MediaTek’s portfolio of audio solutions. MediaTek’s audio chipsets are designed to bring high-quality, high resolution audio to sound bars, smart speakers and other connected audio devices. With Sony’s 360 Reality Audio technology integrated into MediaTek’s chipsets, consumers will be able to enjoy a new level of sound quality and a more immersive audio experience.

360 Reality Audio uses Sony’s object-based spatial audio technology to deliver a new type of immersive music experience. Artists can take advantage of Sony’s 360 Reality Audio to create a three-dimensional sound field by mapping sound sources with positional information including distance and angle. Devices that support 360 Reality Audio will reproduce the intended sound from music creators, making listeners feel as if they are immersed in sound from all directions.
