Qualcomm drives smart cities forward with Accelerate 2019 event

SAN DIEGO – WEBWIRE

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, is hosting its first annual Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerate 2019 event here at our San Diego headquarters.

Over 550 people. 400+ companies.  Eighteen city CIOs.  Nine city managers. Dozens of other city officials, including a mayor thrown in for good measure. Systems integrators like Accenture, Black & Veatch, Quantela, Tech Mahindra, UROS, and Xingtera. Solutions providers like Arrow, CIMCON, Compal Electronics, Cradlepoint, Lime, OneScreen, Telensa, and Ubicquia. All gathered in Qualcomm’s auditorium to exchange knowledge, make connections, and share high-tech solutions to issues facing cities today.

“The inaugural Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerate 2019 event is the place to be for smart cities solutions providers, systems integrators, and governments, all coming together around solutions that use Qualcomm Technologies’ cutting-edge tech,” said Sanjeet Pandit, senior director, business development and head of Smart Cities, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “Qualcomm Technologies invents the tech that changes the way the world connects, computes, and communicates, and we’re continuing that leadership in this area that can have significant real-world positive impacts on people’s lives.”

The event builds off the Qualcomm® Smart Cities Accelerator Program which we announced in April of this year – an all-in-one matchmaking program that connects cities, municipalities, government agencies and enterprises with an ecosystem of providers offering Qualcomm Technologies’ technology-based solutions tailored for smart cities applications.

We have another great announcement to make as our Accelerate 2019 event gets into full swing: AT&T has joined the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program.

“At AT&T, we are always looking for ways to better engage cities and municipalities to truly optimize their investments in technology,” said Michael Zeto, vice president – advanced solutions, AT&T. “Joining the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program is one way we will achieve this mission and help cities realize the dream of a smarter, connected future.”

AT&T joins dozens of members participating in the program. For more information please visit the program’s website.
