Panasonic Supplies Audio Visual Equipment for Use in Japan Olympic Museum

Supporting communication of the goal of the Olympic Movement towards the Tokyo 2020 Games

Osaka, Japan – WEBWIRE

Panasonic Corporation announced that a wide range of its audio visual (AV) equipment and security cameras have been utilized in the Japan Olympic Museum which will have its grand opening on September 14. With a long history of Panasonic technology helping to support the Olympic Games, the company’s equipment will now also be used to produce AV displays and facilitate operation of the Museum, which is a key location for communicating the goal of the Olympic Movement. For use in the Museum, Panasonic has supplied its high-brightness projects, large-scale LED screens, touch-panel display screens, 5.1-channel theatre sound system, headphones, as well as network security camera systems.

The Museum, which is operated by the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC), is located near the New National Stadium, the main venue for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020. At the Museum, a wide range of AV equipment will be used for diverse exhibits and interactive displays where visitors can not only view but can touch and experience the content. The Museum is meant to be a place where visitors can experience the future of the Olympic Games.

At the Museum, a 1.9mm super high-definition large-screen “Welcome Vision” video display allows visitors to instantaneously feel the scale of excitement within the city and among the athletes leading up to the start of the Games. Roughly 20 digital displays within the Museum also allow visitors to connect with the inspiration and history of the Olympic Games. In the Museum’s theatre, two 4K projectors display video content onto a curved large screen which is combined with a 5.1-channel sound system to help provide a realistic sensation of the Olympians’ dynamic feats. Interactive displays use projectors to show images of the Olympians and their athletic records, allowing visitors to play games to test themselves against the physical abilities of the athletes. Panasonic’s equipment helps to support these exhibitions which can be enjoyed by a people of all ages. Furthermore, the security cameras are also used to automate visitor counting, which helps support museum operations.

Also, from September 14-20, one of the grand opening rotating exhibitions is planned to include displays of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 medals and torch.

Going forward, Panasonic, a worldwide partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games will continue to supply advanced products, technologies and solutions to support the operation of the Games, and to share the passion and excitement of the Games with people worldwide.
