Frank Tropea’s gothic paranormal thriller “Go Ask the Dead” gets rave reviews

“Go Ask the Dead” (ReadersMagnet; 2019) by Frank Tropea tells the gothic tale of Amanda “Mandy” Mannon, a beautiful young girl with psychic abilities and an insatiable appetite for sex. Born to an equally loose mother and seduced by her stepfather, she satisfies her pleasure by cavorting with both humans and spirits at the same time, particularly her living husband Craig and her Confederate ghost lover William.
 
The book has been well-reviewed by reviewers from reputable book review publications. Christopher Stone of The US Review of Books recommended “Go Ask the Dead” saying, “Tropea weaves his tale enchantingly, while also making the supernatural shenanigans—and the characters who propel them—feasible and frequently terrifying.

Writing for Pacific Book Review, Ella Vincent called the book “provocative” and “thrilling” and described Tropea’s writing as “evocative” and “a mixture of smoldering and emotional.”

Writing for Manhattan Book Review, Rachel Dehning gave the book a star rating of 3.5 of 5 for its underlying topics of racism, abuse, unconditional love, rape, and the power of good versus evil – all of which “can affect a reader’s experience,” though “a select audience would really enjoy this story.”
 
Kristi Elizabeth of Tulsa Book Review found the fantasy thriller to be both “deeply disturbing” for its sexual scenes and graphic content and “very entertaining” for its cast of “exotic characters with wildly, fantastic personalities.” Giving the book 4 stars pout of 5, she wrote, “I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys paranormal fantasy.”

About the Author
 
Frank Tropea was born to a middle-class Italian family in Brockton, MA in 1949. After graduating from high school in 1967, he went into the Navy. He always loved reading and literature. Using the GI Bill, he went to college and took up a BA in Literature and Psychology. After being laid off from his job and going through some difficult years in life, he was hired by a courthouse. He also received an MA in Literature and Psychology from Harvard. He later joined Mensa and then Intertel. Frank always loved writing poetry and later books. He is an avid reader of the paranormal genre. His beliefs and probing of the paranormal enabled him to write “Go Ask the Dead.”
