His book is written with unique style and tone.

New York, NY USA – WEBWIRE

“Like the configuration of a snowflake, rare, and unique, in its own beauty. Like no other beauty. God is forever Beautiful!”

Passionate poet Raymond Quattlebaum compiles another set of poems in his second book The Color of Love. This book contains poetry that magnificently expresses gratitude and appreciation toward God. Through God, life is made beautiful and happiness becomes color of love.

Readers will also find 38 different poems written by Raymond and all poems are written with so much confidence, incessant encouragement and unrivaled optimism. His poems are his ways of expressing life as the essence of humanity. Humans must push. “Because in life, you never know how far you can go until you push,” says Raymond. “Life is a constant push.”

Yet, one of the poems can be so intriguing it covers one of the realities that torments modern Americans: inequality. The line “Every time I read the paper a brother is going down, we’re living in dangerous times today…” tells the recent events that are happening in the United States and stir much controversy. This poem begs to resolve sensitive and relevant issues in gentle and patient ways but reminds the reader to be cautious.

Meanwhile, readers will also understand poetry from another point of view: the author. Poetry is not what a person reads. Rather, it is how it is read and where it takes the reader. Raymond incites readers to evaluate their feelings while reading poems, and will take them to another place in time. He vows to return them back from a daring trip with more anticipation as they reach to the very end.

 About the Author

Raymond Quattlebaum is an African American and the third eldest son in a family of five. He lives in Upper Westside Manhattan in New York City. He loves working out, music, and party clubbing. But his real passion is poetry. He recalls that the first time he wrote poetry felt amazing. He began writing a poem for his third grade teacher Mrs. Albert. She liked Raymond’s poems so much that she put those in the school’s newspaper. Writing poems made him feel good himself and pushed him to write even more as time went on. The singing group Earth Wind & Fire also moved him so much in his teenage years. The way they would word their lyrics is something all would have to listen to themselves, because their songs are spiritually divine and unbelievably beautiful. Today, he writes as much beautiful poetry as he can and puts it in a book. Because love makes the world go round.
