BRF anticipated the end of the lay-off announced in May and, with this, has already started hatching eggs - the first stage of the poultry breeding process. This week, the company started sending the first batch of chicks to the field. About 24 integrated producers are receiving approximately 1 million birds, which will be of appropriate slaughter weight in 28 days.

Carambeí’s industrial activity will return on September 2 with the resumption of two chicken lines from the plant. The third production line will resume operations in October, completing the full operation of the unit. “This period was important to normalize the company’s inventories and optimize supply management to ensure the balance of our production system,” says Rubens Modena, BRF’s Paraná regional director, about the Lay-Off period.

During this period, around 1,000 employees working in the unit received training in partnership with the Ponta Grossa Commercial, Industrial and Business Association (ACIPG). The course grid covered topics such as: Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, Leadership, Compliance, Environmental Management, Personal Finance, among others.
