Bob Williston, in his personal accounts of his experiences under his erstwhile denomination, reveals disconcerting behaviors and practices of its highly regarded clergies or so-called workers. His book, “I Will Disentangle Myself . . . and Leave,” chronicles his growth and his inevitable realization of the truths deep within the secrecy surrounding their fellowship, which subsequently leads to his resignation from the group.
The book takes readers at the center of this mysterious religion’s unnerving practices as Williston details his experiences starting from his observations during its weekly meetings and conventions during his childhood. He was always pleased with the warm treatment from his affiliates who religiously showed deference to their clergymen. However, as he had gone to grasp the atrocious truths of their worker’s abusive practices, he also began to detach himself slowly from their denomination.
The search for deeper understanding of his ordeal drove him to write this book, which will also serve as an account for the lessons he learned in dealing with abuse. Moreover, he says: “If reading this account is of any help to anyone else, then I’ll consider it a bonus return on my efforts.”

About the Author
Bob Williston is a retired educator who taught French, English, US history, and political science in several provinces of Canada and Nevada. He had also served as secretary to the Senate Finance Committee of the Nevada Legislature in one session. He was raised in Miramichi, New Brunswick, but is now spending his retirement in Las Vegas, Nevada.
