Reuse, return, recycle: Sónar cuts down on single use plastics in 2019

This year Sónar takes another step towards sustainability with the introduction of reusable and returnable 50 cl. cups for all drinks including water at the festival, helping us to cut down on plastic waste at Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night.

Simply pay a deposit of 2€ when buying your first drink at any bar, and keep the cup with you. Cups can be exchanged for clean ones with the purchase of a new drink. Just ask the bar staff. 

Used cups can be returned and the deposit refunded at the SonarCashless refund  stands at Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night. A maximum of 5 cups can be returned at any one time. 

Sónar will also be cutting down on single use plastics on its bars. For this reason, water will be served from glass bottles which are less resource intensive to produce, and easier to recycle.
