Entrepreneur and Children’s Author Ray Sobrino Jr. Introduces an Inspiring and Uplifting Fable

Child bullying is such a run-of-the-mill issue nowadays, and there is no cure for this kind of social illness. However, there is an effective antidote to that problem as juvenile author Ray Sobrino Jr. shares an uplifting story about an underage cockroach.
 
In “Ralphie the Roach,” Ralphie came out from school crying because he was bullied. He was told he was ugly because he was a cockroach and was tormented by Henry the Honey Bee. To cheer him up, Ralphie’s mother encouraged him to ignore the bullies’ taunts. She cheered Ralphie that appearance doesn’t matter, not even anyone’s origin, as long as one has a good heart. Even if he would be bullied, he still has to show kindness and be helpful to others.
 
Yet, this fable also has striking resemblance in Sobrino’s childhood. Sobrino also encountered being bullied and tormented. While growing up, kids are always mean to a degree and his tribulation made him feel bad once in a while. And just like the mother in Ralphie’s tale, Sobrino’s mother assured him that people’s appearance and origin don’t matter as long as they maintain a good heart.
 
Moreover, the sincere sense Sobrino initiated this fable is for children not to be tormented by bullies. People are always mean but that shouldn’t be the reason for one to become mean. “Always show a good hear whether that person is your neighbor,” said Sobrino.

Born in 1971 Long Beach, CA, Ray Sobrino holds a degree in English Literature from California Lutheran University. He has three children and currently lives in Newbury Park, California.
