Residents of Puerto Rico Advised that Mold Issues Lurking behind Walls and Ceilings Can Cause Indoor Air Quality Problems

Most people can readily recognize mold growing on a wall or ceiling in their home, office or school. Anytime there is visible mold growth there is a good chance people in the area are being exposed to elevated levels of it in the air they breathe.
 
While there are many situations where indoor mold growth is readily visible, it is also quite common for mold growth to be confined to places that are out of sight, but still having a negative impact on indoor air quality (IAQ). Areas of frequent concern include wall cavities, below floors, under carpeting, above ceilings, and beneath or behind cabinets. If moisture or elevated levels of humidity have entered these locations, there is a good chance mold growth has taken place.
