From Florida writer and poetry-lover Penny Heggie Austin comes the 1^st book of The Hidden Valley book series, “A Second Chance at Life.” A religious romance book that will pull you into the heart of the character’s story while showcasing the beauty of Hidden Valley, which comes to life for the readers as they become involved in the lives of the characters.

The book is the 1^st part of a book series and has gained positive reviews, inspired with both Religion and Romance. “A Second Chance at Life,” will inspire anyone how to overcome obstacles in starting over and developing a new life. It is a story about the community of Hidden Valley and how people bring the love and grace of God to their community. A story of romance that is well-developed and the friendships that gradually build around it.

The book’s main characters are Hank and Anna along with their friends bring a hospital to life and work together to make a better life for everyone around them. They work through many trials and danger in their lives and come out of them stronger in their faith.

Penny Heggie Austin was born in Fort Meade, Florida and raised in Wilmington, Illinois where she lived and raised her five children. She returned to Florida in 1985 and lives in Fort Meade. She attends the First United Methodist Church there. She is very active in Church and loves her community of Christian friends. She has four living children, having lost her youngest son in 2015. She lost her second husband in 2009. She has 16 grandchildren and this year her great grandchildren number 39. Having lost a great grandson this year. She spent several years traveling for work and met a lot of wonderful people and attend a great number of churches. She hopes everyone who reads her books will realize how God can work in their lives no matter what the circumstances are.

“A Second Chance at Life” will be displayed in the upcoming huge literary events in Canada this year on June 9 in Saskatoon, September 14 in Halifax, on September 21 in Lethbridge, and lastly on September 22 in Toronto.

About the Author

Penny Heggie Austin, who loves to write poetry and novels, lives in Fort Meade, a small town in central Florida. She has four living children, two stepchildren, sixteen grandchildren, and thirty-four great-grandchildren. She was born here, on her grandfather’s farm. Having married her first husband and raised five children in Illinois, she returned to Florida in 1985 to help her brother, who had cancer.

Austin is very active in her church and loves her church family. She thanks God for her wonderful life with her second husband, who passed away in 2009. They traveled around the country to lease properties for communication towers. During that time, they met many people and attended many different churches. Despite major tragedies, like losing her youngest son earlier this year, she remains faithful to God.

She hopes readers will enjoy “A Second Chance at Life” as much as she enjoyed writing it.
