Jack McCoy + GoPro Search for Oz’s Next Surf Filmmaker

The legend behind the lens, Jack McCoy, is teaming up with GoPro and The Perfect Wave to talk story and find Australia’s next up-and-coming surf filmmaker.

If you don’t know Jack, you’re in for a treat. Between A Deeper Shade of Blue and his full Green Room Surf Moviesthere are 40 years of award-winning surf filmmaking in Jack’s arsenal that he is ready to share on his Talk Story Tour throughout June 2019. Each stop will feature two hours of behind-the-scenes stories as well as a lineup of special guests unique to each stop.

We can’t just get you all hyped without providing an outlet for the creativity, which is why GoPro and The Perfect Wave are calling on up-and-coming, young-gun surf filmmakers to submit their best surf sequences for a shot at winning a trip to the Maldives as the official videographer of epic surf trip. The winner will also score mentoring sessions with Jack, Kai Neville and the guys at GoPro. Our judges include Jack, Occy, Rasta, Craig Anderson and Kai Neville.

How to Enter

Share your best surf sequence on your Instagram (60 seconds max) with#mccoynextgen and #jackmccoytalkstory along with @jackmccoyaloha@GoProANZ and @perfectwavetravel in the caption. Option to tag your crew as well and get them behind your entry.   

Rules

  1. Contest open to Australian residents only.
  2. Submissions must include hashtags and tags to be entered.
  3. Submitted sequence must be captured by the submitter.
  4. Sequences can be new or old; but make sure they are epic and 60 seconds or less.
  5. Entries open through June 25. Winner will be announced July 1.
