Alstom to attend Transport Logistic 2019 in Munich

WEBWIRE

Alstom will present its locomotive platform and range of services at Transport Logistic 2019, the world’s leading trade fair for logistics and transport, in Munich on 4-7 June. At booth B6.110, Alstom will highlight the Prima H3 hybrid shunting locomotive and the Prima H4 mainline and shunting locomotive, as well as showcase its service activities for locomotive and freight transport.

“We will be happy to welcome you at transport logistic and to present to you our prospects for freight and shunting transport in the German-speaking area. Innovation and sustainable development are of central importance to Alstom, shaping our vision for the future of rail transport,” says Jörg Nikutta, Managing Director of Alstom in Germany and Austria.

Transport Logistic takes place every two years and is the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management. The fair acts as a business platform and driving force for the global logistics and transport industry.

Prima H3 and Prima H4: Environmentally friendly shunting

Based on the Prima modular platform, Prima H3 and Prima H4 locomotives provide optimal shunting services coupled with first-class energy efficiency.

Energy savings

Prima shunting locomotives offer a large versatility of energy sources, allowing operators to have the most adapted environmental-friendly solution and to significantly reduce energy consumption, noise and CO2 emissions.

In particular, Prima H3 & H4 hybrid locomotives (combining battery and diesel engine) are perfectly adapted for small and heavy shunting operations in ports, industrial sites, yards, as well as for feeding and track works services. They offer a reduction of energy consumption by up to 60%. Prima H4 locomotive bi-mode (combining catenary power supply and diesel engine) is used for switching between electrified and non-electrified lines, and Prima bi-mode battery integrates additional benefits of battery power to reach zero emission operation.

Speed and traction

Prima shunting locomotives are characterized by higher operating speeds. The three-axle Prima H3 can run at up to 100 km/h and the four-axle Prima H4 at 120km/h, compared to 80 km/h of most of the shunting locomotives. This means that they can be integrated more easily into rail traffic for mainline transport or for transiting between sites. Their tractive power of 240 kN or 300 kN also provides for better adhesion when starting and for higher towing capacity.

Leading life cycle assessment thanks to optimized service

Prima H3 and Prima H4 are accompanied by Alstom’s long-standing expertise in total-cost-of-ownership. Equipped with TrainTracer®, Alstom’s condition-based maintenance solution, these locomotives offer savings of up to 20% on maintenance costs. In addition, Prima locomotives benefit from service competence centres for first-class customer support.
