The American Board of Industrial Hygiene® Creates the “Board for Global EHS Credentialing®”
We are very pleased to announce that the American Board of Industrial Hygiene® (ABIH®) has created a new, higher-level organizational umbrella called the Board for Global EHS Credentialing® (BGC®) to more accurately reflect our enhanced credential offerings, which include the Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH®), Qualified Environmental Professional® (QEP®), Environmental Professional In-Training® (EPI®), and a Product Stewardship credential, which is currently in development.
Going forward, we will refer to our organization and governing body as the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC), and use the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) and Institute of Professional Environmental Practice® (IPEP®) to identify credentialing divisions under the BGC’s organizational umbrella. The names of our current certifications and designations, the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), and Environmental Professional In-Training (EPI), will remain the same.
