A Simple Sidewalk Journal Into a Reflection

Dallas, Texas – WEBWIRE

“After reading this story, you will never look at a sidewalk the same again. Your pedestrian feature awareness will be raised,” MacGregor declared when asked what the book was truly about.

What began as a high school homework eventually became Matt MacGregor’s first published book. Through the years, it has developed from a simple sidewalk journal into a reflection on life and speaks to that in concrete terms – metaphorically speaking – through the life cycle of one stretch of sidewalk in America.

MacGregor’s first literary achievement presents the foundational yet transitory nature of a sidewalk as an American town evolves around it. It teaches one to be positive, to take care of oneself, have friends, and be ready to face the everyday challenges that exist as life changes in a whimsical manner.

He was an avid reader growing up, but not a proficient writer. He remembers struggling in writing, but has always remembered the simplicity and illustrative manner of Dr. Seuss. He also appreciates the historically descriptive writing of John Steinbeck, James A. Michener and David McCullough.

This book is an addition to the author’s many prior work reports where he has substantially contributed to the completion of. He has other ideas in mind to convey other learned messages.

About the Author
Matt MacGregor was born in Jeffersonville, IN in 1961 and grew up in Indianapolis. He went to a Jesuit high school. He had to work odd jobs growing up in Indiana to help pay for high school and attend Purdue University. MacGregor has always been interested in the environment and transportation through camping, taking long family vacation and road trips. He works in the transportation industry and can only thank the people he has worked with over the years who have kept him young in mind. This interaction has kept him keenly aware of the need to balance being open to new ideas with being comfortable retaining elements of the past to make progress. He and his wife live in east Dallas and they have three sons. An uncurable health issue has created a sense of urgency to market this story in telling a story for all of us.
