Lansing, MI – WEBWIRE

It’s an honor to have a Past Chair of ABIH® be recognized by AIHA and his peers to be able to join the select few that can use the FAIHA designation.

Last month the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) announced the names of a dozen industrial hygiene, occupational, environmental, health, and safety professionals that are being recognized this year as distinguished Fellows. The individuals were nominated by industry peers for their contributions to the industrial hygiene profession.

According to an AIHA announcement about the selection, “Fellows are nominated by a Local Section, special interest group, committee or other formal AIHA entity for their achievement in the field of industrial hygiene. Individuals are reviewed and selected by the AIHA Awards Committee and approved by the AIHA Board of Directors. The Fellow designation is limited to no more than 5 percent of the membership.”

One of those selected this year for the prestigious Fellow of AIHA (FAIHA) designation is an American Board of Industrial Hygiene® Past Chair, David C. Roskelley, MSPH, CIH®, CSP. Mr. Roskelley is a principal and founding partner of R&R Environmental, Inc., a broad based industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental consulting firm located in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has a Master’s degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Utah/Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) and currently teaches as an adjunct faculty member. Mr. Roskelley is the past chair of the National AIHA Joint Industrial Hygiene Ethics Education Committee (JIHEEC). Additionally, he chaired the Joint Ethics Task Force consisting of representatives of AIHA, ACGIH, AIH, and ABIH® which was responsible for overseeing the adoption of a new, comprehensive system of ethical standards for the industrial hygiene profession.

“It’s an honor to have a Past Chair of ABIH® be recognized by AIHA and his peers to be able to join the select few that can use the FAIHA designation,” said Dirk Yamamoto, PhD, CIH® and Chair of ABIH®. “Mr. Roskelley has earned this through his dedication to the industrial hygiene profession and his tireless pursuit to protect workers and promote the industry. We look forward to witnessing the new distinguished Fellows be honored at the Mark of Excellence Awards Breakfast during the American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition next month in Minneapolis.”
