New Warrington GIANT Food Store to Open April 5

GIANT Food Stores will celebrate the grand opening of its new Warrington store located at 1661 Easton Road on Friday, April 5 at 8 a.m. The new store replaces GIANT’S current store located at 2395 York Road, Jamison, which closes for business on April 4 at 6 p.m.

Approximately 50 additional full and part time jobs have been created bringing the total number of Warrington GIANT associates to 180. The new 56,000 square foot GIANT will operate 6 a.m. to midnight seven days a week

Jessica Fischer, a 20-year grocery veteran, has been appointed store manager of the newest GIANT, and she will bring her team and community leaders together in a 7:45 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 5. As part of the celebration festivities, the first 200 customers in line will receive a GIANT reusable shopping bag, a six pack of GIANT English muffins and other grand opening savings.

“We are excited to debut our new look and plenty of fresh ideas to our Warrington area customers,” said Fischer. “This new store is larger than our original location, giving us the opportunity to offer more farm fresh produce and quality products along with the introduction of new offerings, like fresh squeezed juice and an expanded assortment of plant-based products, creating a unique, one-stop shopping experience.”

The Warrington store will feature an expanded farm fresh produce department with more than 350 fresh produce items including a variety of organic selections, in-store cut fruit, and a full salad bar.

In addition, the new store will feature GIANT’S signature fresh departments including a full-service deli with a selection of grab and go meals with salads made on site; a full-service meat and seafood department offering USDA Prime, Nature’s Promise meats, fresh fish, and a variety of local offerings; a decadent full-service bakery with artisan breads, cakes, donuts, and other dessert favorites; and a full-service floral department with fresh-cut flowers and stunning arrangements.

The new Warrington GIANT will also include a Beer & Wine Eatery, stocked with an immense selection of more than 300 varieties of both local and national brand beer and wine. The Beer & Wine Eatery will showcase craft beers within the expansive Mix-a-Six case, where customers can mix and match to find new favorites. Customers are welcome to pull up a chair in the Beer & Wine Eatery to enjoy fresh-made fare including meal combos, sandwiches, wraps, subs, salads, sushi and a hot bar. The new eatery seats 30 and will be open Monday – Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Warrington customers will enjoy the convenience of a full-service pharmacy, with pharmacists available seven days a week to fill prescriptions and offer expert advice. As partners in good health, GIANT pharmacists can administer vaccines, suggest the right over-the-counter medications and help manage prescriptions. The pharmacy also provides customers a private consultation room where they can talk discreetly with their pharmacist about medication or receive an immunization.

The new Warrington store is part of a $70 million investment GIANT announced last year to grow its store network across Pennsylvania. GIANT also recently announced a series of strategic investments to its store fleet and family of brands, including the recent opening of the first GIANT Heirloom Market in Philadelphia, where three additional locations are planned to open this year; the grand opening of its new GIANT DIRECT e-commerce hub in the city of Lancaster; the acquisition of five Shop ‘n Save stores including two locations in Pennsylvania; and new stores opening later this year in the Walnutport and East Stroudsburg communities.
