Bloomberg Expands Global Diversity & Inclusion Team

Bloomberg is committed to creating a workplace culture around the globe that values difference, fosters inclusion and promotes collaboration. In the spirit of building a strong, expert team with diverse experiences and worldviews, the company has added three talented members to its global Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) team: Manisha Mehrotra as Head of Diversity and Inclusion, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA); Chris Michel as Head of Diversity and Inclusion, Americas; and Sangita Clarke as Global Diversity Leadership Specialist.

Manisha Mehrotra, who joined Bloomberg in 2013 from New York Life, is being promoted to Head of D&I for EMEA. She has more than 10 years of subject matter expertise in D&I and has been instrumental in the launch of Bloomberg’s employee resource groups (known internally as Communities), led enterprise-wide D&I initiatives and supported many of our businesses – most notably Global Data – in implementing their diversity plans. Based in London, Manisha will help to lead the company’s global D&I initiative, whilst serving as a partner and thought leader on the strategy and vision for the EMEA region.

Chris Michel joins Bloomberg in New York as the new Head of Diversity & Inclusion for the Americas. Most recently, Chris served as the first Chief Diversity Officer in the 200-year history of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., one of the United States’ oldest and largest private banks. In that capacity, Chris was responsible for developing and implementing global strategies to grow the bank’s cultural competency. He also led efforts to attract and retain employees across the full spectrum of diversity and built the firm’s external profile as a leader in diversity and inclusion efforts. Over the course of his career, Chris has held several senior-level diversity and HR roles, and has been responsible for initiatives and programs in more than 60 countries around the world.

In a move which signifies Bloomberg’s deep commitment to the progression of diverse talent, Sangita Clarke joins Bloomberg in the newly-created role of Global Diversity Leadership Specialist. Based in London, Sangita will work across Bloomberg’s HR teams globally, serving as an expert in the company’s effort to accelerate representation and develop diverse top talent. An occupational psychologist, Sangita joins from Deutsche Bank, where she spent 17 years working in numerous roles within Leadership and Talent Development, including designing, delivering and implementing programs for senior and executive leaders, and developing Deutsche’s female Managing Director pipeline.
