From Sheryl Sandberg to the president of Colombia – meet the next wave of Cannes Lions speakers

We’ve very excited that we’ve just confirmed our 100th speaker for this year’s festival and wanted to let you know about just some of the amazing people who’ll be taking to the stage this year to demonstrate how creativity can be put to work in your business.

Sheryl Sandberg needs little introduction. The Chief Operating Officer at Facebook previously served as both Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google and Chief of Staff for the United States Treasury Department under President Clinton. She’s also the author of the bestseller Lean In: Women, Work, and co-author of Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy with Wharton professor Adam Grant.

Iván Duque Márquez is a Colombian politician, banker, and lawyer who, since 7 August 2018, has served as is President of Colombia.

For the last decade and a half, Bozoma Saint John, also known as Boz has been blazing marketing and advertising trails across various industries including consumer packaged goods, digital music/entertainment, fashion, automotive, and sports. She was previously Chief Brand Officer at Uber Technologies, ran Global Consumer Marketing of Apple Music and iTunes, and served as the Head of Global Marketing and Senior Vice President at Beats Music.

Leo Savage has been a creative leader in advertising for over 15 years. Currently he serves as the Executive Creative Director at Grey London, where he has lead a global group of clients from P&G, BP, NFL and Marriott to win more than 20 Cannes Lions in three years.

Colleen DeCourcy is the Co-president and Chief Creative Officer of Wieden+Kennedy – one of the world’s most awarded independent agencies. Colleen herself is no stranger to awards. Throughout her career, her creative leadership has earned her Fast Company’s “Most Creative People” (2017), Business Insider’s “Most Creative Women in Advertising”(2013), and Advertising Age’s "Women to Watch” (2006).

Kenya Barris is an American writer and producer. He has created numerous television shows, including the critically acclaimed ABC Original Television Series Black-ish and its spinoff Grown-ish. Together with his childhood friend, model Tyra Banks, he co-created the reality TV blockbuster America’s Next Top Model, which has run on VH1 for twenty-three seasons. Barris recently signed a three-year deal with Netflix to produce series exclusively for the streaming service.

Richard Brim is CCO of adam&eveDDB, one of the most consistently creative agencies on the world stage. Whilst Brim has been at the agency, adam&eveDDB has been Cannes Agency of the year twice (2014 and 2018) with seven Grands Prix. Rick leads creative on the agency’s Christmas campaigns, including the world-famous John Lewis Christmas campaign, H&M (including the award-winning holiday campaign directed by Wes Anderson), Waitrose & Partners to name a few. Other recent work includes creating a new move in FIFA 18, Skittles giving up its rainbow to Pride and Project84 campaign for CALM.
