BRF, one of the world’s largest food companies with products in more than 140 countries, migrated its systems to the cloud and implemented the Citrix Cloud in 2018 to better integrate manufacturing plants.

The platform was chosen for offering the same user experience to all users, with agility in the exchange of equipment and data security. “As Citrix is used mostly by our factory and distribution center employees, having that ease of switching equipment with the same expertise anywhere is critical,” explains Ismar Junior, senior IT analyst at BRF.

With Citrix, BRF’s Information Technology team was able to save infrastructure costs due to centralized, automatic update anywhere in the world. Another savings is the network for the units, since the platform uses little band in its day to day. “Citrix Cloud has brought flexibility and scalability to operations, as legacy migration has made the new applications available, bringing real-time, fast updates to all users,” said Geraldo Costa, Citrix’s chief corporate account manager.

Access to applications and data is delivered quickly and securely to employees, without the need for the presence of the support team. “There are 12,000 licenses available, accessible anywhere in the world. The user experience is unique in any device and location, contributing to productivity, ”explains Andre Mainardes, IT coordinator at BRF.

With the project, the BRF also had a decrease in complaints and calls for support regarding the connection drop. Increased availability of the system was essential to increase user productivity, due to the upgrade and improvement of Citrix Technology.

For BRF, this is a path with no return, since more than 70% of the company’s IT environment is in Cloud. “We’re going to close this down with all the units running in the cloud and Citrix’s engagement was essential to this goal,” says Junior.
