Map Your World with Fusion + Google Street View

CHICAGO – WEBWIRE

Fusion has been capturing new perspectives of the world since its debut in 2017, but a new partnership with Panoskin, a virtual tour company, means Fusion users can now help write history on Google. TrailBlazer is a desktop app that can import 360 footage shot with your Fusion camera and publish it directly to Google Street View, enabling you to share more of your world with... well... the world!

TrailBlazer is now available in beta for Fusion users, so read on for all the scoop from the official release:

Share More of Your World on Google Street View

with the GoPro Fusion 360 Camera and New Desktop App

TrailBlazer Beta allows anyone with GoPro Fusion to update Street View anywhere

In partnership with GoPro and Google Maps, Panoskin, a Chicago based technology company specializing in virtual tour creation, launched a new product today called TrailBlazer that will allow anyone with the GoPro Fusion 360 camera to publish directly to Google Street View.

TrailBlazer is a desktop application which converts GoPro Fusion 360 camera footage into Google Street View. Users will be able to drop their videos into TrailBlazer, which in minutes, maps the footage on Google with the help of GPS information provided by the GoPro Fusion.

While Panoskin already allows you to publish indoor imagery on Google, TrailBlazer will allow you to publish GoPro Fusion footage directly to roadways, trails, ski slopes, mountain peaks, waterways, neighborhood streets and more.

“Fusion is a leading 360 camera due to its super-stabilized footage, go-anywhere ruggedness and ease of capture. It’s a must have for anyone shooting 360,” said Tom Chomiak, Panoskin CTO and creator of TrailBlazer. “Today, we are excited to add to this success by allowing GoPro Fusion users to update Google Street View. Using TrailBlazer, anyone with a GoPro Fusion can pave a path on Google Maps and share their experience with the world.”

TrailBlazer also creates opportunities for countries where there is minimal Street View. Anyone with a GoPro Fusion camera across the globe will be able to strap a GoPro Fusion to their car or helmet and update Google Street View in realtime and capture unique places like Greenland or Africa that have little to no Street View mapped.

In addition, business owners who have limited or out-of-date exterior views of their business will be able to update how their storefront appears on Google.

Anyone can publish and update previous Street View images, and Google will show internet users a timeline of multiple publishes over a single trail.

TrailBlazer Beta is now open for early access to GoPro Fusion users, with a full launch expected by this summer.
