Alumni Named in Queen’s New Year Honours List

Two London Business School (LBS) alumni have been named in the Queen’s 2019 New Year Honours list, which recognises people for exceptional achievement or service. 

Richard Boggis-Rolfe, Chairman of the National Employers Advisory Board, has been awarded an OBE for voluntary service to the Armed Forces Reserves in Gloucestershire. 

Robin Charles Hindle Fisher, a business coach and executive mentor at Hay Hills Partners, has also received an OBE, for his work in London’s financial services sector. 

Both graduated from the Sloan Masters in Leadership and Strategy programme. Boggis-Rolfe was at LBS in 1981, while Fisher studied here in 2002. 

Executive Education participants have also been recognised in this year’s honours. Donald Hood Brydon, Chairman of the London Stock Exchange and Sage Group, and David Grahame Newborough, Chair of the National Skills Academy for Power Strategy Group, have received a CBE and OBE respectively. 

Brydon, who took the Maximising Board Effectiveness programme in 2003, was recognised for services to business and to charity. Newborough received the OBE for services to skills in the energy and utility sector. He took the Financial Seminar for Senior Managers programme in 2001.  

UK nationals or citizens from the Commonwealth countries such as Australia, Canada and Jamaica can be nominated for an honour or award
