In their continuing efforts to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, New York’s own Michael Anthony, Executive Chef of Gramercy Tavern, and Gavin Fine, of Fine Dining Restaurant Group, will host the sold-out Alex’s Table: NYC Dinner. Chefs Fine and Anthony collaborate for an innovative and intimate dinner at a private residence in New York City on December 3. All proceeds from this special evening benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) and its mission to find a cure for pediatric cancer.

Inspired by a similar event hosted by Chef Fine in Jackson Hole, WY, Chef Anthony is excited to host the Alex’s Table: NYC Dinner. “My connection to ALSF started 8 years ago when I participated at the request of Chef Marc Vetri in Philadelphia. It was one of the most fun and well-organized events that I had ever participated in,” said Chef Anthony. “When I heard Co-Executive Directors Liz and Jay Scott tell the story of their daughter, Alex, and Foundation, along with hundreds of other people in the audience in tears, I felt deeply moved by their story. At that event, I met Suzanne Goin from Los Angeles, who invited me to her version of the event a couple years later and there, I found an equal outpouring of emotion and energy. Since then, I participated in the NYC version as well. What can I say, I’m hooked.”

ALSF’s signature culinary events have empowered chefs from across the country to use their talents in the fight against childhood cancer. In 2005, Philadelphia Chef Marc Vetri and Business Partner Jeff Benjamin met Liz and Jay Scott (parents of ALSF founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott), were moved by Alex’s story and wanted to find a way to help. The first Great Chefs Event in Philadelphia was created, raising $50,000 for ALSF. The Great Chefs Event Philadelphia has inspired similar culinary fundraisers fighting childhood cancer in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles.

This event is sold out. For more information about ALSF’s Culinary Events, visit AlexsLemonade.org/Culinary-Events.
