Colfax, North Carolina, USA – WEBWIRE

Organizing a party is the most fun way to cheer up a friend.

After working at the farm, getting a car, and going on a road trip, what is there left to do for Teddy? Cheer up a friend by planning a party in their honor! Teddy did just that in The Barn Dance, the fifth installment in “The Wonderful One-Eyed Teddy Bear: Kristi’s Favorite Granddaddy Stories.”

Written by Glen E. Robinson and illustrated by Gerald Marion, “The Barn Dance” tells how far a friend can go to help a friend – and why a party at the barn could be a fun, great idea.

Remember Mr. Buster Lion from “Teddy Gets A Car?” Well, he has the blues; a really bad case of the blues. And to cheer him up, Teddy and his friends plan a big party in his honor. Mr. Billy Goat’s barn is the only place big enough to hold a party, so they organize a barn dance. To provide music for the dance, Mr. Hootie Owl recruits several musicians from the neighborhood. To help Teddy and his friends fit in the party atmosphere, Mrs. Billy Goat teaches them how to dance.

About the Author
After 40 years as a dental school Professor, the author retired; he and his wife sold their home and moved to North Carolina in order to be close to their granddaughter, Kristi. Granddaddy and Kristi spent many hours together in the car and she often said: “Tell me a story, Granddaddy.” The stories he told her were about the stuffed animals that were part of her “family.” A main character in all of the stories is Teddy, the Wonderful One-Eyed Teddy Bear. The stories were recorded on a digital voice recorder as they were being told. Then they were transcribed and edited by the author and his daughter (Kristi’s mother), Susan Alexander. The sole reason for this effort was to preserve the stories for Kristi’s future children and grandchildren. The stories are being published in the hope that other children and adults will enjoy them as well.
