Outcasts of the Worlds

Burbank , CA – WEBWIRE

Exciting new sci-fi fantasy novel opens pathways to worlds never before imagined. Lucas Aubrey Paynter’s Outcasts of the Worlds sets the first chapter to a promising series.

In a distant future, nuclear holocausts have set waste to the Earth. The only survivors are divided - the regular humans, and the “half-humans,” people who have evolved as a result of their ancestors’ exposure to fallout from the nuclear explosions.

Half-humans are persecuted and incarcerated in a dilapidated high-rise tower called Civilis. Inside Civilis is a prisoner named Flynn, the story’s protagonist -- a conman who has resigned himself to a fate of lifelong imprisonment.

One day, Jean -- a half-human who had been imprisoned next to his cell -- breaks free. Flynn, whose sense of self-preservation overcomes his guilt, convinces her to free him as well. The pair proceeds to free Jean’s friend, Mack, as well, and they head off to the mountains to escape their pursuers.

Upon being cornered in a dilapidated facility, Flynn discovers a mysterious rift that opens at his nearing, whisking he and his friends to a world called Sechal.

This is but the first of many worlds the three escapees find themselves drawn to, as Flynn learns of his innate connection to find and open these rifts. As they search for a place to belong, they find themselves drawn into conflicts that are not of their making and find others to join them on their journey.

Among them are Chari, a high priestess of a fanatical sect of the world of TseTsu; Zaja, a blue-skinned girl from the freezing world of Oma, with a secret of her own; and Poe, a murderous warrior with his own burdens to shoulder.

Flynn has a secret all his own, one that led to his imprisonment and could earn him the ire of Jean and Mack, but when they meet Airia Rousow -- a goddess who fell from grace, following a devastating conflict with one of her own -- his conscience will drive him to act on her behalf, even if everything he’s hidden risks falling to the open.

Outcast of the Worlds is a promising first chapter to what is conceptualized by the author, Lucas Aubrey Paynter, as his own cosmic fantasy epic.

Paynter’s elaborate narration, full of well-defined characters and well-described fantasy worlds, will take you on the first leg of a sweeping journey through a seemingly endless vista of worlds scattered throughout a vast galaxy.
