According to the National Children’s Alliance, around 700,000 children are abused annually. Author Ree-Dilla unfortunately suffered this as a child. “My Momma Was My Pimp” retells her recovery from her horrific ordeal.

Ree-Dilla shares her story of pain at the hands of her own mother. Born out of her father’s pedophilic desires, she experienced abuse no child should ever endure, especially from her own family. With no one to cling to, she turned to God for solace. Through His love and mercy, she began to heal.

Pity is the last thing Ree-Dilla seeks as she shares her story. Instead, she hopes for others who have gone through similar experiences to realize the Lord’s healing power for both victims and perpetrators. “This is not for pity but because this is the truth I have had to learn to live with, to endure, and I have had to accept,” she says.
