EMSL Analytical, Inc. Opens New Mold and Asbestos Testing Laboratory in West Palm Beach, Florida

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is excited to announce the opening of our newest laboratory in West Palm Beach. The addition of this new location will become the fifth laboratory in Florida as well as the 45^th laboratory nationwide. EMSL’s West Palm Beach laboratory will be offering extensive testing services for mold and asbestos.

Anytime there is a flooding event, water leak, broken plumbing or humidity issues it can lead to the growth of mold indoors. At elevated levels, mold spores can be a respiratory concern. Mold can even cause asthma attacks in people with the condition who are allergic to mold. Exposure to mold can irritate the eyes, skin, nose, throat and lungs of individuals whether or not they are allergic to it. Asbestos on the other hand is a mineral used for the construction of buildings or homes typically found in the siding materials, roofing materials, textured ceilings and more. The symptoms of asbestos can range from shortness of breath, chest pain, tightness in your chest as well as nail deformities.

EMSL’s West Palm Beach laboratory can now accept mold and asbestos samples. The laboratory is certified by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) to perform asbestos testing in bulk materials. The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) has also certified this location for the mold testing in bulk, surface testing and air samples.
