My collection of stories contains at least thirty-eight major characters. Of all those, I would identify Carl Conroy of Carl and Lynette as my favorite. In addition, I can closely relate to the narrator of the story, An observation on Self-Esteem. He shares my emotions, character defects, and personality. Although his lifetime experience is fictional, his emotions are representative of my own.

Dr. Douglas Bosack’s “Henri: Seventeen Short Stories” examines the topics and emotions of love, hate, fantasy, tragedy, and humor, along with human perversions, existentialism, chemical addiction, time travel, and the paranormal.

Offbeat, distinctive, often surprising, Bosack’s collection of short stories will keep readers clamoring for more.  The incredible variety – some short, others long; capturing the everyday, zeroing on the downtrodden; sci-fi or a view hundreds of years ago – offers something for everyone, each claiming distinct favorites.

“The stories of this volume are well-constructed with many interesting surprises in a variety of venues.  In short, they are sheer entertainment and a joy to read,” shares Dr. Louis Patouras, a professor at Kent State University.

The book has been featured at the biggest book events in North America, BookExpo America and BookCon 2018, last May 31-Jun 3, 2018, at The Javits Center, New York City.

About the Author

Douglas Bosack, a cardiologist from Ohio, began writing in 1996.  At that time, his busy cardiology practice left little room for his new venture as an author.  Consequently, his writing portfolio was often put on the back shelf for months, even years at a time.  The doctor’s retirement in 2005 gave him the time needed to hone his writing skills and expand his creativity.  The book “Henri,” a collection of seventeen short stories of varied genres, is Dr. Bosack’s first published work.  He anticipates release of his novel, Caduceus, this summer.
