Celebrating National Healthy Homes Month in Puerto Rico and the Importance of Indoor Environmental Quality

June has been recognized as National Healthy Homes Month (NHHM) ever since the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) began the time of recognition several years ago. This annual month-long celebration is recognized in Puerto Rico and across the rest of the United States.
 
NHHM offers an opportunity for residents of the islands to learn more about housing and its impact on health. It is also a time for agencies, such as HUD, to raise awareness and provide resources for what makes a home healthy, and to strengthen coordination and collaboration between housing and health at the federal, state and local levels.
 
Strong supporters of National Healthy Homes Month, and some of Puerto Rico’s leading advocates for healthy buildings of all types, can be found at Zimmetry Environmental.
