Support Group for Parents Who Are Grieving the Loss of a Child

Offered Free by The Elizabeth Hospice to Parents of Any Age

The loss of a child is a unique loss because of the special bond that exists between parent and child. Adjusting to the absence can be particularly challenging but with support and guidance parents can once again feel hopeful and have a sense of peace.
 
The compassionate professionals of The Elizabeth Hospice are experts in grief and loss. Their offering of support services for the Southwest Riverside community is expanding to include a free , four-session support group in Temecula for parents of any age. Surviving the Loss of a Child will meet on Tuesdays, June 19 through July 17 (group will not meet on July 3), from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, at 27720 Jefferson Avenue, Suite 200, in Temecula. The group will be led by Michelle Brown, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who specializes in working with families faced with the loss of a child.  
 
“Support group participants will gain a better understanding of their grief experience,” said Michelle Brown. “They will receive valuable information and resources, have opportunities to honor and memorialize their child, and connect with others who are facing similar circumstances. We strive to help grieving parents gain new insights and learn what it means to heal after loss.”
