• Sky News is the only broadcaster in the world to show the Royal Wedding live in Ultra HD via Sky Q

• Sky News app to use world-first software to name key wedding guests as they arrive, detailing their connection to the Royal couple

Watch the Royal Wedding live in Ultra High Definition exclusively with Sky Q on Sky News and enjoy the finery and grandeur as never seen before.

UHD has four times the detail of standard HD, providing even greater clarity and detail to the live broadcast beginning at 9am on Saturday 19 May. Also simulcast on Sky One, reporters will be around the country at street parties and picnics and overseas in Los Angeles and Toronto.

In a world first, Sky News app users can watch wedding guests arrive at St George’s Chapel using the ‘Royal Wedding: Who’s Who Live’ function. Specially designed software will name guests as they enter the chapel, giving detail about their connection to the Royal couple with on-screen captions and graphics.

John Ryley, Head of Sky News said: “Sky News will offer viewers a comprehensive package of coverage across all our platforms, however they wish to follow the event on the day. We’re incredibly excited to be the first and only broadcaster to televise a Royal Wedding in UHD and to offer those watching the ceremony across the country expert analysis, innovative technology and bespoke coverage on mobile.”

Filming with approximately 110 cameras and 160 technical staff, Sky’s UHD coverage will offer fans of the monarchy crisper views and four times the detail. Viewers tuning in will experience sharp and vibrant colours, so they can live and breathe the couple’s big day in more detail than ever before.
