A Story of Evil’s Attack on an American Family

In talks of faith, the family is God’s most important gift to people and must be protected from evil. This idea is echoed by Thomas E. Berry, a former professor of Russian language and literature, in his novel “Hidden Secrets.” The book features a Latina housekeeper who intercedes for the family she is serving, helping them battle the attacks of evil.

Lita has been working for the Logan family for a long time. The Logan’s also helped in her son’s schooling expenses and keeping her family afloat. In this novel, Lita sees how the children are deceiving their parents and participating in various works of the devil, like vice and infidelity. Being limited by her role in the household, the best thing she could do is pray for them regularly, hoping they rebuild their faith before their future is compromised.

“Hidden Secrets” reflects on the spiritual challenges encountered by the youth. It shows the decline of the American family and how faith can help rebuild it. The book was displayed on LitFire Publishing’s booth during BookExpo America. The event took place in Javits Center in New York from May 30 to June 1, 2018.

About the Author

Dr. Thomas Berry is a well-traveled retired professor of Russian language and literature. He has lectured at John Hopkins University, Smithsonian Institution, and the Russian Cultural Center of the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC. He also speaks on international cruise lines. He has eleven academic books and eight novels under his repertoire.
