James Varner constantly wonders about existence, pushing himself to acquire a sociology–anthropology degree in 1964. He also earned his stripes in architecture in 1972. He volunteered in the Peace Corps and explored the world. Working as an architect, James Varner spends his spare time writing about life. He resides in Bakersfield, California, with his wife and grandson.
