Cancer Survivor Penny Hovda: Let Go and Let God

Cancer survivor Penny Meyer Hovda bares the truth of her battle against breast cancer and the major role her faith played in her survival in her first book, And He Said, “Praise Me!”

In 2005, Hovda was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through multiple surgeries, chemotherapies, and Herceptin treatments before she could begin healing.

Hovda wrote And He Said, “Praise Me!” after getting cured from cancer. Now she uses her book as a medium to reach out to everyone who is going through a difficult time. “I went looking for a book such as this after my diagnosis, but couldn’t find it. There are many books on breast cancer. I was looking for something spiritual that would help lift me out of the emotional wreckage that was my state of being at the time,” she explains.

Through her bout with the deadly disease, she turned to God for strength and hope. She believes that “He will turn your tragedies to triumph and your sorrows to blessings.”
