New Christian Fiction Highlights Personal Relationship with God

God’s timing is always perfect. Author Janet E. Ressler makes this case in the development of her characters’ stories in “The Search.”

Ressler had always wanted to write a book that described a personal relationship with God, but found the idea of a “how-to” book dull and uninteresting. Instead, she formulated an outline for a story that wove the relationship between two people with that of their relationship with their Creator. She stumbled upon the draft years later and was inspired to finish it. The product is “The Search.”

The book follows the bourgeoning friendship between a young cadet named Kent and Penny, a young teenaged girl, who meet at the end of World War II. When their friendship begins to get serious, Penny’s mother decides to call it off and the result is a separation of thirty-five years, during which time they experience the most difficult of ordeals. When their paths finally meet again, Kent is intent on finding a Christian woman by his side to help him through the difficult times.

“The Search” is one of the many books featured at the Frankfurt Book Fair from October 11 to 15, 2017.
