Temecula Catering’s Gourmet Food WOWS Guests at Oak Grove’s “Evening Under the Oaks” Gala
(Temecula, California) May 7, 2012 – On May 5, 2012 Temecula Catering amazed the attendees of Oak Grove Center for Education Treatment and the Arts’ annual “An Evening Under the Oaks” gala with their creative and delicious appetizers. Proceeds from the event will benefit the new multipurpose building being erected at Oak Grove Center. Plans include a Performing Arts and Recreation room as well as an Occupational-Play Therapy room.
As the sun set on Saturday night, guests were welcomed on to Oak Grove’s baseball field which had been transformed with the help of students and volunteers into and upscale event. Guests were greeted with a glass of champagne and directed to Temecula Catering’s tent for appetizers. Thanks to a donation from Shamrock Foods Company, Temecula Catering was able to provide a large offering of gourmet treats to start the night off.
As guests approached Temecula Catering’s tent, the first appetizer on display was two types of hummus, roasted red pepper and garlic, with pita bread. Next on the display: Caprese drops comprised of mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, chiffonade basil and a drop of sweet pear balsamic reduction. Next to that were spoons containing Compressed watermelon, pickled with ginger and topped with wasabi caviar.
Under a heat lamp on a slab of marble were fried risotto cakes, topped with a roasted red pepper aioli and a filet mignon satay. Later in the night, these were replaced with fried zucchini and squash spears dipped in the aioli sauce. As a refresher, test tubes filled with a watermelon, orange, grape and strawberry juice waited as a relief from the heat of the day. Lastly, chilled tomato soup with kimchi celery rounded out Temecula Catering’s gourmet appetizer offerings. As an extra treat, Temecula Catering also brought cake pops and cupcakes donated by Allures.
“This is extraordinary,” Barbara Langdon, member of the Trustee Board said. “Everyone is talking about how delicious it all is!”
“I was honored to be asked to participate in this year’s event,” Temecula Catering’s Chef Michael Cragg said. “After I took a tour of the facility and saw the amazing work being done here, I knew I wanted to help in any way I could.”
